Host family

At our kennel, the well-being of our dogs always comes first. As a small-scale breeder, we believe it is important that our dogs receive plenty of personal attention and love, and truly are part of our family. That is why our dogs do not live in kennels or crates (which this breed is certainly not suited for), but simply enjoy relaxing with us on the couch. We also find it important that our dogs get sufficient exercise, multiple times a day.

Although we would love to have a house full of dogs, we realize that this is not feasible, as we would not be able to give them the full attention and love they deserve. In addition, we both have jobs and do not want to be dependent on breeding. That is why, like many other breeders, we have chosen to work with guardian families. In this way, we can ensure that our dogs receive the optimal care and attention they need, while still being part of our breeding program, provided they are suitable for breeding, as the breed has taught us that only a small percentage is truly suitable.

When you choose to become a guardian family, the dog will come to live with you and will become yours free of charge. In return, we expect that the dog will be well socialized and that you will attend puppy training classes so that he/she learns basic obedience. We also find it important that the dog receives high-quality nutrition. The costs related to daily care, such as food, beds, leashes, and regular veterinary visits, are the responsibility of the guardian family. All costs related to breeding, such as health testing, are covered by us.

Female

For a female, this means she will have a maximum of two litters. Around the age of 1.5 years, she will be fully examined. If she passes all tests and is found suitable for breeding, she will become part of our breeding program. She will return to us approximately one week before her due date and will stay with us until the puppies leave the nest. Of course, the guardian family is always very welcome during the entire maternity period. After a maximum of two litters, the female becomes the full property of the guardian family.

Male

For a male, this means he will be fully examined around the age of 1.5 years. If he passes all tests and is found suitable for breeding, he will also become part of our breeding program. This means he will occasionally be collected for mating.

We are looking for guardian families who genuinely want to contribute to the breed and who share our vision. In addition, we find it important to have a good connection and open communication, so that we can build a relationship. We would like to meet on a regular basis so that the dog remains familiar with us. This could be in the form of a walk or a visit at our home or yours. Therefore, it is important to us that the guardian family lives nearby, preferably within a maximum of 30 minutes travel time from Lippenhuizen. If you are going on holiday or away for a day or weekend, the dog is always welcome to stay with us in consultation.

Would you like to contribute to the breed and do you share our vision? Then please fill in the contact form so we can get in touch and possibly schedule an introductory meeting to see if there is a mutual connection.
